TANAH JAMBU, 02 May 2025 – Week 2 of the Junior Development Course (JODC) 01/2025 concluded with the Foundation Skills module. The module serves to provide a strong foundation to prepare the course participants to meet the demands of high-level thinking and writing expected in both professional military and academic settings.
The module was designed to equip the participants with a thorough understanding on various formatting and techniques used in military service writing. This is to help them further develop the skills needed to produce appropriate military correspondences with clarity and purpose. The module covered different areas focusing on writing conventions, the different types of correspondence, and forms of Service Writing such as Administrative Instruction and Minutes of Meeting.
Another part of the module also touched on the fundamental skills of Essay Writing, emphasising both theoretical understanding and practical applications. The participants explored through the complete process of crafting high-quality essays by understanding the principles of good writing, constructing a well-organised structure, and creating compelling thesis statements. Additionally, the participants were also introduced to key research and analysis tools with particular emphasis on enhancing strong research and analytical abilities essential for critical thinking and problem-solving in addressing any complex issues encountered.
