TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 31 October 2025 – The Leadership Module for the Junior Officer Development Course (JODC) 2/2025 commenced on 27 October 2025, marking the beginning of an important phase in developing the participants’ leadership potential within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The Head of the Leadership and Management Centre (LMC) delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of individual development with emphasis on leadership skills, critical thinking, and the foundational pillars of the RBAF core values.
Throughout the module, participants explored the essential qualities of effective military leadership – focusing on both personal and interpersonal competencies, as well as the skills and abilities required to lead with confidence and integrity. Through two-way interactions, syndicate discussions, and practical team-building activities, participants enhanced their communication and decision-making skills while building greater confidence in handling future responsibilities.
The introduction of a Team Charter further strengthened unity and accountability within each syndicate. Meanwhile, the team-building sessions encouraged collaboration, cohesion, and teamwork as participants worked together to overcome challenges.
In addition, participants visited the Ministry of Defence Library and Info Centre (MLIC) at Bolkiah Garrison, where they were introduced to methods of accessing a wide range of physical and digital resources – including books, articles, and journals – through the MLIC system. The visit aimed to promote continuous learning and information literacy among future leaders of the RBAF.
